Itzel is a Mexican American attorney with deep roots in both El Paso, Texas, her native city, and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico where she was raised. Having completed her elementary schooling in Ciudad Juarez allowed her to become bilingual in Spanish and English.
After graduating high school from Loretto Academy in El Paso, Texas, in 2009, she moved to San Antonio, Texas where she earned a double major in Political Science and International Relations, and a master’s in Public Administration in 2013 and 2014, respectively, from St. Mary’s University. After gaining professional experience in the field, she chose to pursue her passion for law and earned her Juris Doctor degree, graduating cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California, in December 2019.
Itzel began her legal professional career as an immigration attorney in El Paso, Texas. In 2021, she returned to California to broaden her practice to include elder abuse, medical malpractice, personal injury, and employment law. In 2022, she joined Mr. Overing’s firm, where she would eventually become a partner in 2025, co-founding Overing Morales Professional Law Corporation.
Proud of her Mexican American heritage, cultural upbringing, and truly bilingual skill, Itzel strives to offer guidance, advice, and high-quality legal representation not only to the underrepresented Mexican community but to all clients who trust her with their legal needs.
Outside of law, Itzel attributes her strong sense of discipline, responsibility, and perseverance to her many years studying classical ballet. She is an animal lover, an avid foodie, and a travel enthusiast, constantly seeking to explore new cultures and perspectives. Itzel is grateful and feels blessed to have a small but supportive family who have always encouraged and believed in her.
